WHEREAS the name Old Age Security is very insulting to those 65+ when they feel, think, and ARE still young at heart;
BE IT RESOLVED that the name OLD AGE SECURITY be replaced by Seniors Bonus or Seniors Pension or any other appropriate non-offensive name.

Believe it or not, there is now a groundswell of “seniors” who don’t like that word, either, and find it offensive. The term “elders” seems to be gaining credence.
This is a good idea, although maybe not a priority resolution :)
Political correctness, and bullsh-t.
What is wrong with OAS ? Anyone think they will live forever ? We can’t stop the clock and why would anyone be offended by this designation of a reality that no one can escape from. I find the word senior a lot more insulting than old, respect for our elders went out the door when political correctness came in. Come on call a spade a spade and let’s not waste taxpayers money on finding an new name for something that is not offensive. I can’t believe this, when we were young we used to call it “Baby Bonus”, now you want a Seniors Bonus ? Get back to earth people, what are we teaching our younger generation with such foolishness…..
